Telma cornflakes was missing from many store shelves recently as the company tried hiding the situation, which was learned to be a contamination on that production line, leading to the shortage. The company later this week gave the ‘all-clear’, reassuring consumers their product line is safe once again and there was no reason for concern.
After the cornflakes episode the company revealed on Tuesday, 27 Tammuz the contamination effected other cereals in addition to cornflakes. It was also learned the incident led to a Health Ministry inspection on site, at the production plant. A Mako News report reveals that the company’s ‘Cocoman’ line was also infected along with the cornflakes.
Telma has since announced the following production dates have been recalled and should not be found in stores:
· June 26 and 27, 2016 (Cornflakes Alufim)
· June 23 & June 27 to 29 (Cornflakes with badatz hashgacha)
· June 16 to 30 (Cocoman shells)
The Tuesday morning alert from the company did not mention ‘Deliflakes’ which was included in an earlier alert.
It is reported that despite company assurances that the product line is safe, sales of Telma cereals have plummeted.
